SHAREIT WIDGET PTE. LTD. ("we", "us", or "our") provides PicCal. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect information when you use PicCal and related services.

By using PicCal, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, please stop using the app and related services.

PicCal is designed for food logging, calorie tracking, hydration tracking, weight tracking, barcode lookup, AI-assisted food recognition, nutrition estimation, and related personal wellness features. AI scan outputs are generated by Doubao model services provided through Volcengine. They are for reference only and are not medical, nutrition, safety, or professional advice.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the app, we may process the following categories of information:

Food records, calorie values, nutrition values, meal categories, favorite foods, hydration records, weight records, goals, and trend data that you choose to enter or save.
Images, barcode values, text descriptions, correction prompts, and related inputs that you submit for recognition, lookup, or analysis. Our server does not retain original scan images or scan inputs after the scan request is processed, unless you separately save a resulting food record or other app record.
Profile and preference information stored locally, such as age, gender, height, weight, language, unit preferences, calorie budget, macro targets, app settings, and subscription-related UI state.
Optional feedback content, email address, screenshots, diagnostic archives, and logs that you choose to submit through feedback features.
Technical data such as device model, operating system version, app version, request timing, error information, payload size, and limited server logs needed to operate and secure the service.
Subscription status information needed to unlock paid features. Apple handles payment credentials, billing, refunds, and subscription management.

2. How We Use Information

We use information for the following purposes:

To provide food logging, nutrition estimation, barcode lookup, AI recognition, hydration, weight tracking, statistics, and personalized goal features.
To process images, text, barcode values, and corrections that you submit for recognition or analysis.
To store and display your records, preferences, favorites, and trends in the app.
To operate, maintain, debug, secure, and improve the app and backend services.
To respond to feedback, support requests, error reports, and product questions.
To manage premium access, trial availability, purchase restoration, and subscription entitlement status.
To comply with applicable laws, platform rules, security obligations, and dispute resolution requirements.

3. Local Storage and Server Processing

Many records and preferences are stored on your device. Some features require network access and backend processing. For example, when you submit a food photo, barcode, text description, correction, or feedback archive, that content may be transmitted to our server only as needed to complete the requested feature.

We may retain limited server logs and diagnostic information to investigate failures, prevent abuse, measure service performance, and maintain service stability. For AI scan requests, our server does not retain the original scan image or scan input after the request is processed. Technical logs are limited to operational data such as request timing, status, error information, and payload size, and are not intended to include the original image content. We do not use your private food records for unrelated advertising profiling.

4. AI Scanning, Volcengine, and Doubao

When you use AI-assisted food recognition, the image and related scan information you submit may be transmitted to backend services and processed by Volcengine and Doubao model services to identify possible foods, estimate serving sizes, calories, nutrients, benefits, risks, and related explanatory information. Our server does not retain the original scanned image or scan input after the request is completed, unless you choose to save the generated result as a food record or otherwise store related information through an app feature.

Volcengine and Doubao may process submitted content according to their own applicable service rules, privacy policies, security requirements, and model limitations. Please avoid submitting images or descriptions that contain unnecessary sensitive personal information, identity documents, financial information, private messages, or content involving other people unless you have the right to do so and the submission is necessary for the feature.

5. Third-Party Services

PicCal may rely on third-party service providers for cloud hosting, AI model processing, food or barcode data lookup, payment processing, crash diagnostics, analytics, customer support, and storage. These providers process information according to their own policies and only as needed to provide or improve the relevant feature.

Apple handles App Store downloads, in-app purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and payment credentials. We do not receive your full payment card number or Apple Pay credentials.

6. Device Permissions

Camera: used to take food photos and scan barcodes.
Photo Library: used when you choose images for recognition or feedback.
Network Access: used for backend APIs, AI recognition, barcode lookup, feedback submission, subscription checks, and legal pages.
Health-related integrations, if enabled in a future or configured version, are used only with your authorization and for the purposes shown in the app.

You can manage app permissions in your device settings. Some features may not work if required permissions are disabled.

7. Feedback and Support

If you contact us or submit feedback, we may process the message, optional contact email, attachments, logs, and related diagnostic information to understand the issue and respond. Do not include sensitive health, financial, or identity information unless it is necessary for your support request.

8. AI, Health, and Nutrition Disclaimer

PicCal provides calorie, nutrition, food recognition, serving size, glycemic load, benefit, risk, and wellness information for general informational and personal tracking purposes only. AI-generated outputs are provided by Doubao model services and may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, misleading, or unsuitable for your circumstances. We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, completeness, freshness, safety, or suitability of any scan result, nutrition estimate, food identification, ingredient inference, allergy-related inference, or health-related explanation.

PicCal is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or nutrition counseling. If you have allergies, medical conditions, pregnancy-related needs, child nutrition needs, eating disorder history, chronic illness, or other health concerns, consult a qualified healthcare professional.

9. Data Retention

Local records remain on your device unless you delete them, reset the app, or remove the app data. Our server does not retain original AI scan images or scan inputs after the scan request unless you separately save a generated result or related record. Server-side operational logs that do not contain original scan image content, feedback archives, support records, and records needed for third-party processing are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for service operation, security, troubleshooting, legal compliance, and support purposes.

10. Security

We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

PicCal is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.

12. Your Choices

You can edit or delete records inside the app where the feature supports it.
You can revoke camera or photo access through system settings.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account subscription settings.
You can contact us to ask questions about this Privacy Policy or your submitted feedback data.

13. International Processing

Your information may be processed in countries or regions where we or our service providers operate. Data protection laws may differ from those in your location, but we take reasonable steps to protect information as described in this Policy.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on the policy page or made available in the app. Your continued use of PicCal after an update means you accept the updated Policy.
